With technology rapidly increasing in both the workplace and in the multimedia and entertainment industry, it is no wonder that smartphones are also making increasing improvements every year. The technology invested into these phones continues to draw larger crowds every year and generate an entire new cesspool of users. Here is a brief list of some of the most wanted smartphones of 2011 and the features that make them so great:

Motorola Atrix

The Motorola Atrix is one of the most interesting smartphones on the market. It has an HD display and supports the newest 4G technologies, but what is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of this phone is the fact that it can connect to a docking station on a particular style of laptop. Essentially, the dock consists of a battery, keyboard, USB ports, and a track-pad, but the minute a user plugs the phone into the docking station, the current data on the phone’s screen displays on the screen of the laptop, making an effective tool for presentations and more.

BlackBerry Torch 2

BlackBerry’s newest release, the Torch 2, is an unbelievably great phone for many reasons. First, it features a 1.2 GHz processor, which means that it will be able to perform a variety of functions at a relatively fast rate. This is also a slider phone, meaning that the main part of the phone slides up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, which is great for texting or inputting data into forms.

Sony Ericsson Xperia

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Play Playstation has released a mobile phone through Sony Ericsson known as the Xperia Play. This phone is an excellent performer as a standard smart phone as well as a gaming phone. The main touchscreen section of the phone slides out to reveal PlayStation gaming controls such as a control pad, standard triangle, square, circle, and X buttons, and many more features that make this a great all-around phone for people who love gaming.

LG Optimus 3D

LG Optimus 3D

LG Optimus 3D may be one of the first smartphones with 3-Dimensional technology built into it. The stereoscopic 3D display does not require users to have 3D glasses while using it. There is a 5 megapixel camera for taking pictures and recording videos in 3D and playing them back with stunning quality. Of course, there is also the option to select 2D picture and video taking if users prefer this method.

These are just a few of the most wanted smartphones of 2011. Each of these phones is unique in its own special way, and there are many features that are sure to please businesspeople, students, and everyday users. I don’t normally go for LG products, but that LG Optimus 3D looks totally awesome. As a Blackberry fan, i admit that Optimus could change my tastes in phones.

I find it hard to bring myself to buy phones that I haven’t used before, so reading up on other smartphones opened my eyes to the potential of these other phones. I think LG may well be my next upgrade :)
