Install Official Ice Cream Sandwich For AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 i777

We have seen a lot of Ice Cream Sandwich Leaks for Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 but it seems like the i777 has been missed out in the run of leaks. But here we have an Ice Cream Sandwich Leak for Samsung Galaxy S2 AT&T directly from Samsung and hence it is the official build. Remember, it is a build and not the final ICS that might be released for your i777. This leak is not for the LTE variant and can be applied only on AT&T’s original Galaxy S2. Thanks to Rootzwiki for this leak. In this tutorial we will tell you how to install ICS on this phone.

Also note that Rootzwiki has not mentioned any information about how it would run on your device but since it is an official one, it is expected to run well on any AT&T’s original Galaxy S2.

  • Back up all contacts to SD Card.
  • Make sure you have KIES installed.
  • Disable Anti virus and other security apps
  • Enable USB Debugging by Settings>Applications>Development and ensure that USB Debugging is checked.

Steps to Install

You need to be on Windows to do this because this procedure uses Odin One-Click Installation fie which runs only on Windows.

  1. Download Odin OneClick file.
  2. Download Heimdall Files
  3. Turn off your phone
  4. Boot into Download mode. To dot this, press the Volume Down button and Center button. While you press both, simultaneously press the Power button.
  5. Connect your phone to the PC via USB Cable.
  6. Run the Odin One-Click file you downloaded in Step 1.
  7. Your phone must reboot on success.
  8. After this, you can download the new USB Drivers from here.

    Hi,

    Here are my doubts:

I have a unlocked sgs2 from at&t , If I flash ti using the procedure above.. It wont be getting locked by any means right???

Is there any biggest drawback in ICS so that you want me to wait for a while and flash after some time.. So that new update comes up… Since I am new to android.. Just putting the phone in download mode and connecting to pc will work after just pressing start button .. odin one click willl be able to fetch all files automatically.. or shd we put the odin single click in the same folder where all files are present???…

I should say that your tutorial is enough ,clear and crisp, But pls forgive newbies like me …

    Thanks a loooot..

To be on the safer side, you should always boot into recovery mode and make a nandroid backup. Yes, the Odin one click file should fetch all files automatically. You can refer Rootzwiki where you can see comments made by people who have tried this :)

    This is not official ICS.

THIS IS A LEAK. IT IS NOT OFFICIAL. IT IS NOT OFFICIAL UNTIL OTAs start rolling out or AT&T announces it. Until then it is a prerelease leak and nothing more!
