Motorola had already announced about its first Tablet, The XOOM [Read as ZOOM] at the CES 2011 on January,5. It is one of the sexiest tablets you would ever find with a few others already in the market which will be mentioned at the end of this post under Related Posts. When you know its an Android powered tablet, your expectations are sure to reach the top level.

What is Android 3.0 Honeycomb?

If you are not a true geek, you might wonder what is Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Honeycomb is a version of Android which is particularly designed for devices with large screen like tablets. Honeycomb has some extra features added to it other than those which were already present in the older versions of Android. Some of them are availability of Google Maps 5 with 3D experience and offline reliability, access to over 3 million Google eBooks and Google Talk with voice and video chat. The browser experinces are also enhance with multi-tabbing, auto-fill and bookmarks syncing features.

Features

The design is so good that it would surely make you drool from your mouth. It has a 10.1 inches capacitive touchscreen and a resolution of 1280X800 pixels with 3D graphics acceleration. The device is extremely luminescent and reflective. It is capable of playing 1080p HD videos, thanks to the dual-core ARM based Tegra 2 chipset.

It has a 2MP front facing camera for video chatting with Wi-Fi or cellular Internet and a 5MP rear facing camera which is capable of recording 720p video. It also has an HDMI out.

BTW, the unit which was featured at the CES was not fully polished Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet and only the video with the upcoming functionality of the platform was shown.

3G is an important factor about which you might be wondering about. Yes, it will have the 3G feature through Verizon Wireless.

Price

XOOM is priced at $700 and will be released on February,17th (hopefully it doesn’t get delayed :P)
