Install Imaginary ICS ROM on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830

Prerequisites

  • Before you install any ROM on your device, it is always advisable to take a back up of your tablet’s data. Backing up your contacts is easy and you can back up all your contacts to your tablet’s SD Card.
  • To back up your applications, I recommend you to use ASTRO File Manager which also allows cloud storage.
  • Make sure you have enough battery on your device to support the installation. If the device powers off due to lack of battery power, it may brick the device.
  • Never forget doing a nandroid backup in recovery.
  • It is recommended to be on stock ROM before you apply this ROM.

Steps To Install Imaginary ICS ROM

  1. Download Imaginary ICS ROM zip file
  2. Connect your phone to the Computer using USB cable and copy the zip file to the root of your SD card. By root of your SD card, I mean the SD card itself and not within any folder. This makes it easy for you to find the file in recovery mode.
  3. Boot into recovery. To do this, turn off your phone and press the Menu button + Power button.
  4. In the recovery mode, navigate using the Volume Buttons and select using the Power button.
  5. Important: Make a nandroid backup so that you can revert back to the current firmware later if needed.
  6. Go to wipe and wipe cache, dalvik cache and wipe all data/factory reset.
  7. Go back and select “install zip from SD card”>”Choose zip from SD card”.
  8. Select the zip file you had moved to the root of your SD card in Step 2.
  9. Confirm it in the next screen and flash it.
  10. Go to wipe again and wipe all data/factory reset.
  11. Go back and select “Reboot system now”.
