UPDATE: Microsoft seems to have taken control over their channel again.
It was not long back that Sylvester Michael Johnson, a friend of mine contacted me on Facebook reporting that Microsoft’s Official YouTube channel has been hacked. Below I will be providing you with some screenshots of how the YouTube channel look as of now! All the videos of the channel have been removed and someone has posted solicitations for sponsorship. When contacted on live chat, Sylvester asked them about this and this is what they said:
The question is not shown as it was entered before the chat could begin. However, when I tried to contact the same Microsoft Official in North America, I was asked to contact Microsoft India (as I am from India). The support person did not even provide me with a link to their YouTube Channel!
A message on the channel reads ”
A message on the channel reads, “I DID NOTHING WRONG I SIMPLY SIGNED INTO MY ACCOUNT THAT I MADE IN 2006 :/”
This is perhaps because a user made an account when YouTube started off and later since Microsoft needed the channel, they asked YouTube to handover that account to them. Later the user might have recovered his account using his email
The Background on the channel says “YouTube Fix Your Security”. Have a look at the video uploaded by Sylvester:
