Root Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman Running Android 2.3

The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is an Android Smartphone for music lovers which runs Android 2.3. It is powered with a 1GHz processor and is capable of recording videos of  720p. So this is a short introduction of the phone and this isn’t a review, this is a guide to root the device running Android 2.3. Based on the recommendation of a reader, I decided to post this tutorial on this blog. If you wish to know rooting guide for any other Android smartphone, let me know 😉

Prerequisites

  • Make sure you have backed up all of your apps to the SD Card. You can use ASTRO File Manager for the same.
  • Back up contacts and SMS to the SD Card.
  • Disable all Anti-virus and security tools as this might prove to be a hindrance in the process to root Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman

Steps to Root

  1. Download Easy Rooting Toolkit and ADB Drivers (if you haven’t)
  2. Extract the files to a folder on your PC with password “blogotechblog.com”

  3. Connect your phone to the PC with USB Debugging enabled. You can enable USB Debugging by going to Settings>Applications>Development and make sure USB Debugging is checked.
  4. Now, run the file called “runme.bat”
  5. Follow the instructions you get on the screen. This tools also allows you to unroot Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman.
