AreaRom for Samsung Galaxy Precedent

Prerequisites

  • Before you install any ROM on your device, it is always advisable to take a back up of your tablet’s data. Backing up your contacts is easy and you can back up all your contacts to your tablet’s SD Card.
  • To back up your applications, I recommend you to use ASTRO File Manager which also allows cloud storage.
  • Make sure you have enough battery on your device to support the installation. If the device powers off due to lack of battery power, it may brick the device.
  • Never forget doing a nandroid backup in recovery.

DisclaimerBlogoTech is not responsible for any damage that might be caused to your device during this process though the possibility of any damage is negligible. Try this at your own risk.

Steps to Install AreaROM

  1. Unzip the Odin zip file you downloaded to a separate folder in your PC.
  2. Connect your phone to the Computer using USB cable and copy the ROM zip file to the root of your SD card. By root of your SD card, I mean the SD card itself and not within any folder. This makes it easy for you to find the file in recovery mode.
  3. Turn off your phone.
  4. Boot into download mode. To do this  Hold – Volume Down + Camera + Power (hit power last).
  5. Open Odin in your PC (the .exe file)
  6. Put the .OPS file in the OPS slot, Boot.tar in Boot slot, Phone.tar in Phone slot and PDA.tar in PDA slot.
  7. Click on Start in Odin and wait for your phone to restart.
  8. After it restarts, Hold Camera + Volume Up + Power (hit power last) to boot into recovery mode.
  9. Press Volume buttons to navigate, camera button to select and power button to go back.
  10. Select “Install zip from SD card”>”Choose zip from SD card”
  11. Select the ROM zip file you had moved to your SD card in Step 3 and confirm in next screen.
  12. Your phone might restart, in that case turn it off again and boot into recovery mode.
  13. In recovery mode select “Wipe”>”Wipe all data/factory reset”.
  14. Go back and select “Reboot system now”. If it boots back into recovery, select the same option again to reboot your phone.

In this way you can easily install AreaROM.
